Working in the Whitsundays

With a number of expanding industries operating from the Whitsundays’ coast, the region generally has job opportunities throughout the year, with many part time and full time, for a short or long term. 

From fruit picking, cane crushing and tourism industry, the Whitsundays is a bit of hub for backpackers on working visas looking for jobs, with many staying and working in the region before moving on. Many jobs in the Whitsundays involve hospitality in its many forms, including crewing and hosting on overnight and day boats, food and beverage, bartending, housekeeping, and sales work in one of the many travel agencies.
