THE WHITSUNDAYS
The Whitsundays
The Whitsundays region is home to the famous Whitsunday Islands, an archipelago of 74 unique and pristine islands. Home to a dazzling section of the world heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsundays is adorned with incredible marinelife, lush island rainforests and boundless turquoise waters. With abundant hidden corners for smooth sailings, kaleidoscopic snorkelling and white-shore beach adventures, the Whitsundays are an utter paradise for tropical travellers and lovers of nature!
Whitehaven Beach
Found on the incredible Whitsunday Island, Whitehaven Beach is on every Whitsunday traveller’s bucket list, and it’s no wonder why! Whitehaven Beach is renowned for its 7km stretch of rare white silica sand, brought to Whitsunday Island by ancient ocean currents. These dreamy, luminescent shores are made of 98.9% silica, creating some of the whitest, softest sands in the world! While you’re in our corner of paradise, hop on a blissful sailing tour or catamaran trip and jet on out to Whitehaven to lounge on dazzling sands, float in crystal-clear bays and adventure to exclusive island beaches!
Hill Inlet
One of the most photographed and Instagrammed spots in the Whitsundays is none other than Hill Inlet Lookout. This incredible vantage point overlooks the swirling sands of Whitehaven contrasted against the azure ocean waters below… a natural mosaic truly incredible to behold. An absolutely special spot to snap some photos, or just take a moment to drink in these magical views… which due to everchanging currents are never twice the same! Keep an eye out for baby stingrays, lemon reef sharks and even Humpback whales between July and October. Access the lookout from the Hill Inlet Track from North Whitehaven Beach for a light, native bushwalk up to this unforgettable Whitsunday gem.
